In October, the following writers, poets, and translators were working in the International Writers’ and Translators’ House: Lote Vilma Vītiņa (Latvia), Roberts Vilsons (Latvia), Laura Laurušaite (Lithuania), Katharina Johanna Ferner (Austria), Zane Volkinšteine (Latvia), Sabina Brylo (Belarus), Inese Zandere (Latvia), Laurence Barbasetti (Germany), Jayde Will (USA/Latvia), Ilze Lāce (Verhaeghe) (Latvia), and Linda Zulmane (Latvia).

In November, with the support of the Nordic Council of Ministers, translator Laura Laurušaite from Lithuania who translates the book “Laimes bērni” (Children of Happiness) by Luīze Pastore will visit the Writers’ and Translators’ House for the first time.

For the first time, the Latvian authors will be represented in the Writers’ and Translators’ House by the Latvian poet and book artist Lote Vilma Vītiņa and the children’s book author Zane Volkinšteine. Foreign authors will include the poets Katharina Johanna Ferner from Austria and Laurence Barbasetti from Germany, and the editor, journalist, and poet Sabina Brylo from Belarus who will visit the Writers’ and Translators’ House for the first time.

The House will be welcoming back the translator Jayde Will who is currently translating Latvian poetry into English, the poet Roberts Vilsons, and the writers Ilze Lāce (Verhaeghe) and Linda Zulmane. Inese Zandere has been living there since October.
