With the arrival of astronomical spring and in order to welcome the first spring holiday – Easter, the placement of Easter decorations in the city will begin, informs the Ventspils Communal Administration.

On Monday, 20 March, astronomical winter will end and astronomical spring will begin in Latvia, while from 7 to 10 April, people will enjoy the long-awaited spring celebration – Easter. To celebrate the festive holiday in a bright and cheerful mood, the installation of decorations will start on 23 March.

The Big Square will be decorated with five egg decorations with colourful ornaments illustrating Easter and Palm Sunday beliefs. Easter egg decorations painted by the students of the Ventspils Art School will also be installed in the New Town Square, complemented by an important symbol of the festival and a favourite image of children – the Easter bunny, which will delight every visitor. In the Town Hall Square, there will be a group of decorations “Iešūpo Lieldienas” (Swing in the Easter), popular among residents for photo moments, accompanied by bird figures and colourful egg decorations in tree branches, as well as a decorative stand “Iešūpo Lieldienas Ventspilī” (Swing in Easter in Ventspils). The Pārventa Centre will also be decorated with colourful butterfly figures, which will be placed in trees, on a flower stand and in the flower bed by the fountain “Kāpu priede” (Pine of Dunes), as well as a decorative stand “Iešūpo Lieldienas Ventspilī” (Swing in Easter in Ventspils).

The Easter decorations with bright spring colours will delight residents and visitors of Ventspils until the end of April.
