From 4 – 6 August, Ventspils city will celebrate its 700+33 anniversary, pleasing the visitors during the celebrations with more than forty events in the area of culture, art and sports. To create solemn festival atmosphere for residents and guests, the city environment will be embellished with various decorations, informs Ventspils Komunālā pārvalde.
The decoration of city environment with thematic festive decorations is an integral part of the festival. Also this year Ventspils city was timely decorated for the festival to await and celebrate the birthday of Ventspils full of joy and in high spirits. Residents and guests of the city can view the festival decorations at the following locations:
- at the Great Square, where a compositional environment object with figures of the year “733” and a windmill is installed;
- On Lielais Avenue, in the stage from Ganību Street to Brīvības Street, in the stage of Kuldīgas Street from Lauku Street to Raiņa Street, at the Town Hall Square and on Tirgus Street, where lighting poles are decorated with flags of the city festival;
- At the centre of Pārventa – at the intersection of Talsu Street and Lidotāju Street, which is decorated with solemn flags of the city festival.
With the renovation of the Ostas Street Promenade, the main events will take place in the City’s centre – in the Big Square and the Renķa Garden.
