On 25 February at 16.00, the new concert programme “Magiterráneo” by flamenco guitarist Daniel Casares will be performed at the concert hall “Latvija” in Ventspils.
The outstanding flamenco guitarist will be visiting Eastern Europe, bringing with him the vibes of the Mediterranean, which inspires with its power, poetic magic and a sense of the presence of the gods. This musical event will play beautiful melodies, allowing you to experience the land where the olive and laurel trees are at their greenest, and the sea where Daniel Casares prefers to create his compositions. The concert programme consists of tango and a variety of traditional flamenco music, with the sole aim of unleashing positive emotions, happiness and peace in the audience.
The accompanying band will complement the guitar sound with vocals, bass guitar, percussion, the hand-plucked rhythm characteristic of flamenco music and even dance elements.
Guitarist Daniel Casares highlights: “It’s not where you start or where you end up that counts, it’s the experience, emotions and knowledge you’ve gained on this journey called life.”
Daniel Casares is a composer and one of the most internationally renowned Spanish flamenco guitarists of the moment. Born near Malaga in the South of Spain. His guitar playing shows the contrasting and temperamental sound of this region. Thanks to his technical virtuosity and mastery, Daniel is open to new challenges in music. In 2014, Daniel’s symphonic work “La luna de Alejandra” was released in collaboration with the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra. In his career, he has collaborated with a wide range of international artists in other musical genres and has performed on world renowned stages such as the Royal Albert Hall in London or the prestigious Carnegie Hall.
The concert in Ventspils is part of the artist’s European tour.
The concert is organised by SIA “Kurzemes filharmonija”. The event is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the municipality of the Ventspils State City.
Tickets for the concerts are available at “Biļešu Paradīze” outlets and online.
