The municipal SIA “Ventspils Reiss” was founded on 14 March 1997 to provide passenger transportation in the Ventspils city, suburbs and long-distance passenger transportation, as well as carry out local and international transportation at the request.
The company’s transportation fleet is one of the most modern fleets in the country. Since 2010, transportation in the city bus routes is carried out by small capacity low-floor buses, facilitating movement of people with disabilities and parents with strollers. When ordering a bus for shorter and longer trips, you can choose both the tourist-class buses equipped with special safety belts, leg rests, foldable tables, reading lamps for the passenger convenience, or rent less-equipped buses with 16 to 69 seats.

Municipal establishment SIA “Ventspils reiss”transports bicycles in the luggage compartments of buses on those trips, which are served by large or medium-capacity intercity buses, so before taking a bus, please inquire, which bus will serve you on the particular trip.
The bicycle must be packed in such a way that it does not leave any stains on the luggage of other passengers and that it can be easily loaded and unloaded from the luggage compartment.
You have to pay for the transportation of the bicycle, because the customer of the intercity public transport service in Latvia has set a specific fee for the transportation of luggage in the amount of 20% of the full ticket price.
Hand luggage up to 8 kg may be carried free of charge on public transport if its size does not exceed 40 x 40 x 20 cm, as well as, for example, crutches, prams and wheelchairs, if the technical capabilities of the public transport vehicle allow it
dogs, cats, ornamental birds, baby animals of poultry or ornamental birds, which are to be transported in accordance with the procedures specified in regulatory enactments regulating the field of animal protection (vaccination certificate, muzzle, leash, animal must be placed in a bag, etc.). The passenger carrying the animal must ensure that it does not disturb other passengers.
