On 4 May at 16:00, the holiday concert entitled Whatever Will Be, Will Be will be taking place in the Concert Hall Latvija to celebrate the Day of the Restoration of Latvian Independence. The Chairman of the Council of the Ventspils State City Municipality, Jānis Vītoliņš, will deliver a speech for the occasion. The concert will feature the a cappella ensemble Latvian Voices and the Ventspils Big Band with Renārs Lācis in the lead.

In this concert, the audience will hear both folk songs and music by Latvian composers which has been arranged especially for the ensemble Latvian Voices, as well as song arrangements and pieces that include the interplay of the Big Band and the vocal ensemble. The programme will feature original music by Toms Rudzinskis and Ritvars Garoza.

The ensemble Latvian Voices (in Latvian: Latviešu balsis) is a Latvian a cappella ensemble established in 2009. The key to their unique sound is professional singing and the selection of repertoire that includes arrangements and original songs by the members of the ensemble. The greatest inspiration of the singers is Latvian folk music. During its existence, the ensemble has successfully participated in international contests, released albums, and collaborated with several artists of various genres, including Renārs Kaupers, Kaspars Zemītis, Intars Busulis, Ēriks Ešenvalds, DJ RUDD, the band Da Gamba from Latvia, The King’s Singers from Great Britain, Lytos from Spain, Viva Voce, Norddeutsche Sinfonietta from Germany, etc.

The concert is organised by SIA “Kurzemes filharmonija”. The event is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the municipality of the Ventspils State City.

The concert is free of charge. Entrance cards are available at the box office of the Concert Hall Latvija starting from noon on 22 April. 12.00.
