On the eve of the City Festival on 4 August, meeting with writer Laura Vinogradova at 11.30 .

Visits by writers and poets were common and frequent in the home of the writer Herberts Dorbe – impressive guest books with entries by well-known Latvian cultural figures have been preserved from the 1970s-1980s. Continuing this welcoming tradition, the writer’s Museum (Ērgļu iela 1) has for several years been hosting meetings with contemporary Latvian authors, especially with writers and artists who are popular among young audiences, as part of the “Guests at the Museum” series.

On 4 August, at 11.30, the City Festival will be marked by a meeting with Laura Vinogradova, a writer and local resident who has written several children’s books that have been highly praised by readers and professionals alike, and who won the prestigious European Union Literature Prize in 2021 for her short story “Upe” (The River).

On 4 August at the H.Dorbe Museum, Laura will meet the youngest readers, show them how to play with words and tell them how she wrote “Mežpasakas. Par Meža Susuri, skudrām, Vilceni un Pūces Bērnu” (2019) and “Mežpasakas.

Par Zalktēnu un stirnu meitenēm” (2019). The meeting with Laura Vinogradova takes place within the project supported by the State Culture Capital Foundation.
