Ventspils science center VIZIUM invites families with children of preschool and primary school age to experience positive emotions in an educational, creative and attractive event, where together with “What is it?” gnomes will have the opportunity to create a personalized mug, paint winter cookies, create wooden angels, taste iced cocktails and get a fabulous face decoration. Participation in the event is free!

The event will take place Ventspils science center VIZIUM foyer on January 27 at 12.00 – 14.00

Activities of the free event “Smile Workshop”:

  • Marbling a Personalized Mug:

⁠In the workshop, children will create their own personalized cup using the marbling technique. This activity will not only develop creativity, but also offer an opportunity to acquire new skills and experience the joy of the uniqueness of the mug you create.

  • Painting winter cookies:

Workshop participants will become gastronomic artists, creatively decorating winter cookies with decorative elements, while also getting to know the beauty of the world of culinary art.

  • Creative workshop of wooden angels:

Creating your own guardian angel using wooden materials and various decorations. In the workshop, children will learn new skills, as well as get to know the woodworking technique, creating a unique winter decoration.

  • Ice cocktails:

An interactive activity that will show you how to make winter themed iced cocktails. Children and adults will be able to participate in the “magical” part of the event, where ice cocktails of wonderful appearance and taste are offered, according to the winter mood.

  • Face painting:

The opportunity to assume different roles, getting a wonderful face decoration, using different art materials and techniques.

The event for families is organized in cooperation with the event agency “Smaidu darbnīca” and the gnomes of the inquisitive YouTube creature “What is it?”.

The event takes place as part of the project Establishment of an Innovation Centre in Ventspils of the Activity Innovation Centres under the programme ‘Science and Education’ of the EEA and Norway Grants for 2014–2021.
