On 2 September, in Pope Parish, we invite you to the second Ventspils Region Festival “Īsa pamācība novada mīlēšanā” (A Short Lesson in Loving the Region). From 15.00 to 18.00 in the courtyard of the manor house, everyone will have the opportunity to take part in the opening ceremony, watch the demonstration of various skills and learn them for themselves, for example, make pendants under the supervision of a blacksmith, learn to spin yarn, make a beautiful onion garland, hold a guitar and play a few chords. There will also be a home producers’ market where you can buy delicious food.
At 18.00, the Pope Bandstand will host a concert featuring performances by the region’s amateur art groups and Ainars Bumbieris, followed by an open-air ball with him and the brass band “Ugāle”.
The alley from the manor house to the bandstand will feature works by Ventspils Region artists, not only adults but also children. Horse-drawn carriage rides will also be available along this stretch of road.
Entrance to the festival “Īsa pamācība novada mīlēšanā” on 2 September will be free of charge. You only have to open your wallet if you want to shop at the market, ride a horse and enjoy a meal prepared by the hosts.
