Ventspils Science Center VIZIUM invites you to attend workshops where, in a creative and engaging atmosphere, natural phenomena and planets will be explored, DNA analysis conducted, and understanding of climate change gained. The bravest can step into the role of engineers and become heroes saving our planet. Visitors will also enjoy a new science show, “Journey Through Science,” while students are offered the chance to conclude their summer break by participating in the “TechnoEco” camp.
In August, creative workshops take place daily at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Every week, new workshop content is offered:
- 4. – 10. august at 1:00 PM “A Journey of Curiosity in Nature”; 3:00 PM “The World of Pixels.”
- August 11 – 17 at 1:00 PM – “DNA Detectives”; 3:00 PM – “Discovering the Wind Formula”.
- August 18 – 24 at 1:00 PM — “Climate”; 3:00 PM — “Planets”.
- August 25 – 31 at 1:00 PM “Bees”; 3:00 PM “Mission: Save the World.”
Starting in August, visitors to the science center can look forward to a new, impressive show, “Journey Through Science,” where they will see, hear, and feel science in all its splendor. The audience will travel through the brightest discoveries — from electricity to light, colors, and explosions. The show “Before the Ashes” will also continue, revealing the beauty of fire and the mysterious side of science through flames in various shapes.
Science shows take place every day:
- Mon. – Tue. at 12:00 “Before the Ashes”; at 14:00 “Journey Through Science.”
- Wed. – Sun. at 12:00 “Before the Ashes”; 14:00 “Journey Through Science”; 16:00 “Before the Ashes.”
In August, the summer day camp “TehnoEko: STEAM Whiz Kid” will also take place! Six-year-olds and students from grades 1 to 5 can look forward to exciting and diverse STEM activities both in classrooms and laboratories, as well as in the exhibition hall. During the camp, participants will have the opportunity not only to explore the world of technology and natural sciences but also to spend active and fun time outdoors with new friends. The youngest visitors will be warmly welcomed by the smiling VIZIUM instructors in the “Little Researchers’ Workshops,” held every weekend. Little researchers will have the opportunity to engage creatively and conduct exciting experiments, exploring the world of STEM in an engaging way, as well as to play in the Little Researchers’ Gallery.
