We invite you to the opening of the exhibition “Salty Winds” by photographer Valdis Brauns at the Boat House!
The exhibition will present unique photographic materials, created mainly in the 1970s, to a wider audience for the first time.
The photographs capture the port and city of Ventspils, the coast, the sea and fishing episodes – an authentic and personal view of his native coast.
The exhibition is part of the events marking Valdis Brauns’ 80th anniversary.
A special photo plein air “Masters of the Salty Winds” will also take place as part of it – a creative meeting with the artist himself.
We are pleased to announce that the opening of the new photo album “Dzimtais krasts” will also be celebrated on the opening day of the exhibition!
The album was created with the financial support of the Fish Fund and offers 180 carefully selected photographs by Valdis Brauns, supplemented with biographical stories and texts by Gunārs Šīmanis.
The book “Dzimtais krasts” will be available for purchase on site during the exhibition.
Admission to the exhibition opening is free.
The exhibition will be on view until October 31.
