On September 13, from 12:00 to 17:00, the Mushroom Festival will take place by the Ziru Community House – an exciting outdoor event that will bring together nature lovers, families, and mushroom enthusiasts, combining the riches of Latvian forests with creative workshops, educational talks, and musical performances.
During the event, there will be a mushroom exhibition showcasing various species and explaining their role in nature. Experts from the Latvian Mycological Society will be available to answer questions and share their knowledge.
In the creative workshops, visitors can try dyeing yarn with mushroom colors, making mushroom paper, and casting plaster with natural motifs. Stands will offer practical tips about the world of ants and their role in the forest, the medicinal properties of boletus mushrooms, and how to cultivate oyster mushrooms at home.
At the mushroom market and gourmet café, visitors can taste and purchase a variety of mushroom products and other autumn delicacies. At At 15:00, the band “MǬ” will perform, followed by Agnese Rakovska with guitarist Artūrs Strautiņš at 16:00. A photo corner will allow visitors to capture their festival memories, while the event will be hosted by Regīna Devīte, ensuring a warm and joyful atmosphere throughout the day.
