On June 23, Līgo Evening, starting at 9:00 PM in Ventspils Reņķa Garden, singing actor Edgars Pujāts together with the concert group “Pirmā reize” will invite the audience to enjoy the concert program “Lai sasaucamies, lai dziedam” (“Let’s Call Each Other, Let’s Sing”).
After the concert — Midsummer Night open-air dance.
The concert group brings together Edgars Pujāts, Armands Kaušelis, and Inese Bergmane, who will delight the audience with beloved popular and folk songs, inviting everyone to sing and dance along.
After the concert, there will be an opportunity to take part in the lighting of the bonfire. The ancient Latvians believed that the power of the flames brought happiness, health, and fertility. The light and warmth of the Midsummer Night bonfire were said to drive away evil spirits and protect people and homes from misfortune.
As the evening continues from 10:00 PM, joyful dancing at the Midsummer Night open-air ball with the band “Express.” A DJ will keep the energy up during the breaks.
