Ventspils Municipality is participating in the “Home Café Days 2025,” a festival of flavors and hospitality organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and the Latvian Rural Tourism Association “Lauku ceļotājs.” To celebrate the event, the theme “Flavors of Ventspils Municipality” has been chosen, highlighting the essence of the festival: exploring the municipality through its people, local flavors, and cultural heritage.
Over two weekends in August, hosts throughout the municipality will open their homesteads to offer guests not only food, but also heartfelt stories about the places, traditions, and everyday life – within the Liv, Curonian, and Suiti cultures.
This summer, 22 home cafés have registered to participate, and to visit several of them, you can go on the road on August 16–17 or August 23–24. On August 16–17, you can enjoy treats in Zlēkas, Vārve, Tārgale, Jūrkalne, and Piltene, while on August 23–24, cafés will be open in Pope, Ance, Ugāle, Puze, Usma, Piltene, and Ventspils. Some cafés will be open for two days, others for one. Most places accept cash payments, but some will also accept payment cards. Many café hosts will offer not only delicious food but also cultural and entertainment programs. Come and enjoy!
