On May 4th of this year – the Day of Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia – everyone is invited to take part in the symbolic hike “100×200 Steps to Jūrkalne,” which is held as part of the “100 Events for the Name of Jūrkalne” series.
The hike will cover 20,000 steps through the entire Jūrkalne parish, from one end to the other, honoring Jūrkalne on its centenary.
The hike will start at 10:00 a.m. at the memorial sign “Sail of Hope” and finish at the wooden bridge over the Rīva River, where a musical surprise awaits the participants.
During the event, hikers will not only enjoy the beautiful natural landscapes but also take part in various activities and savor a delicious lunch. Along the way, creative and themed stops will offer not only surprises but also a sense of togetherness and festive spirit.
The hike is suitable for participants of all ages – both for those discovering Jūrkalne for the first time and for those who know and love it with every step.
