2025. The 2025 European Heritage Days are dedicated to a particularly important topic in the context of Latvian cultural heritage – movable heritage. By looking at and studying works of art, regardless of their forms of expression, we can judge the complex layers of political, economic and social events in the history of the people. Paintings, stained glass windows, sculptures, sacred objects, books, textiles, coats of arms, building parts, furniture, interior items, tools, archaeological objects, military heritage, vehicles, sarcophagi – this is only a small part of the types of movable heritage. In preparation for the 2025 European Heritage Days, specialists from the National Cultural Heritage Board have highlighted various movable heritage objects in order to reveal their cultural and historical significance and emphasize the diversity of heritage in Latvia.
