On the Day of Restoration of the Independence of the Republic of Latvia, May 4th, at 12:00 p.m., the program “Our Home. Our Story” will be presented at the Ventspils Town Hall Square, bringing the atmosphere of an ancient Latvian farmstead to life. On stage, the Tālbergu family, the folk dance groups “Strautuguns” and “Liedags,” as well as the post-folk band “RIKŠI” will perform, inviting visitors to join in lively Latvian dances.
At the beginning of the celebrations, the Tālbergu family, accompanied by songs and games, will invite everyone to feel at home – like one of their own. The Ventspils Cultural Centre’s middle-aged folk dance groups “Strautuguns” and “Liedags” will dance a Latvian story – about strength, roots, and love that unite us. The band “RIKŠI” will blend ancient melodies with modern rhythms through their energetic post-folk sound.
Throughout the event, visitors will be treated to authentic rural flavors – wood-fired rustic bread from the mighty loaves of the “Cīrulīši” farm in Ventspils County, as well as other delicious treats. There will also be an opportunity to purchase family-made products and homegrown goods.
