Ventspils Culture Center invites children and families to celebrate International Children’s Day together on June 1st by taking part in the exciting Children’s Festival “Safety Detectives.”
This year’s festival motto – “Safety Detectives” – invites children to become investigators and explorers, discovering various safety-related topics. Through games, experiments, and creative activities, children will learn essential knowledge about traffic safety, actions in emergency situations, digital safety, as well as safe behavior in the environment and in relationships with others.
Festival programme:
At 10:00 AM at the Main Square – gathering of the festival parade participants. Visitors will be welcomed by beloved character performers and an impressive extreme biking show “GreenTrials.”
At 10:15 AM – Official speech by the Chairman of the Ventspils City Council and recognition of the year’s best teachers.
At 10:30 AM – Festival parade along Lielais Prospekts to the Children’s Town.
From From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a wide and diverse festival program for the whole family will take place at Children’s Town.
- At At 11:00 AM, participants will be welcomed on stage by Roberts Valdman’s bubble show featuring the largest bubble rocket in the Baltics, followed by a musical greeting from the dance group PERFAM.
- Next in the program will be a concert by the Culture Center’s children’s groups featuring songs and dances, with performances by the contemporary dance groups “Mini Lāsītes” and “Lāsītes,” the dance ensemble “Liedags” with preschool and youngest group participants, and the youngest group of the pop studio “Jūras akmentiņi.”
- From 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM – Play program with characters from “Paw Patrol.”
- Throughout the event, the lively and warm-hearted Colorful Man – a beloved children’s event host and helper of the little detectives – will ensure fun and a positive atmosphere.
Additional activities from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM:
- Creative workshops and attractions for the whole family: wooden games, climbing wall, nature and bubble workshops;
- Safety activities together with the State Police, State Fire and Rescue Service, and Customs representatives;
- Youth Guard’s sports and military drills;
- Student learning enterprises market;
- Creative workshops will also be offered by Ventspils Art School, Ventspils Museum, libraries, the Digital Center, the Youth Creativity House, and kindergartens;
- Sports activities: hockey, football, basketball, horseback riding.
- There will be treats for sale and many other activities available.
At At 3:00 PM, the event will continue at Pārventa Children’s Park “Fantāzija,” where children are invited to watch the musical performance “Little Dwarfs in a Big World,” presented by the creative group “Čučumuiža.” Also on site will be the Pārventa Library’s creative workshop and a food sale.
