2025. On Saturday, August 16, adventure and travel enthusiasts are invited to take part in the car-and-photo orienteering competition “Kursas Kurbulis,” which will take place throughout the territory of Ventspils Municipality. The event will offer not only a chance to test navigation and logical thinking skills, but also an opportunity to discover the municipality’s cultural and historical sites, tourist attractions, local producers, and entrepreneurs.
The event will start at 12:00 in Užava, where teams will register and receive the competition materials. The finish will be by 18:00 at the Piltene open-air stage, where all participants will be greeted with the awards ceremony, a concert by the band “Čipsis un Dullais,” and a closing party with a DJ.
The checkpoints will be located throughout Ventspils Municipality, offering a route through its most beautiful and interesting places: historic buildings, farms, workshops, and other stops where visitors can meet the municipality’s creative and enterprising people.
To participate in the activity, you need to form a team of two to five people. You will need a car or motorcycle, a smartphone with a camera, the WhatsApp application, Google Maps, and an internet connection; a power bank is also recommended.
To register for participation, please sign up at: https://ej.uz/kkurbulis.
The event will be documented by photographers and videographers — the photo and video materials will be used for publicity purposes and as keepsakes for the participants.
We invite families, groups of friends, and company teams to take part — this can be a great opportunity for team building and brand promotion.
The event is organized by the Piltene Cultural Center and the Ventspils Municipality Department of Culture. The event is financially supported by the Ventspils Municipality.
