The 30th International Baltic Ballet Festival and artists from the Beijing Dance Academy will visit the Theater House “Jūras vārti” with a magnificent performance “Obvious – Impossible”.
“It will be Chinese classical dance – a delightful demonstration of the sophistication of traditional Chinese ballet technique and movements, which captivates audiences on the world’s largest stages. The gorgeous costumes, together with the unique magic of light art, will create a visually impressive and colorful performance,” says Lita Beiris, the author of the festival’s idea and director, outlining the upcoming guest performance.
Beijing Academy of Dance is a full-time higher education institution that trains outstanding professional dancers, choreographers and dance researchers. Founded in 1954, Beijing Academy of Dance, originally known as Beijing School of Dance, is the first professional dance school established after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The Academy is one of the largest and most prestigious dance schools in the world. It is also known as the “cradle of dancers”, where a large number of talented, dedicated and recognized dancers have been nurtured. Currently, there are about 2,300 full-time students studying here. The Academy has departments of Chinese Classical Dance, Chinese Ethnic and Folk Dance, Ballroom Dance, Ballet, Musical, as well as Choreography, Modern Dance and Stage Design.
