The 4-metre-high and 7-metre-long sculpture ‘Nomoda sapņi’ (Waking Dreams) with its bright and colourful design embodies creative transformation, depicts a modern interpretation of dreams in the waking world and enriches the urban environment of Ventspils with contemporary art.
From 2005 to 2025, this sculpture was known as the ‘Travelling Cow’ and its original design was that of an old suitcase with stickers from various cities around the world where the international art and patronage project ‘Cow Parade’ , was created under the guidance of artist Paul Spridzans. However, due to the visual deterioration of the object, the local government decided to commission artist Elita Patmalniece to completely redesign the visual image of the large-scale cow sculpture on Ostas Street. No 2005. līdz 2025. gadam šī skulptūra bija pazīstama kā Govs “Ceļotāja”, un tās sākotnējais dizains – veca čemodāna izskatā ar uzlīmēm no dažādām pasaules pilsētām, kurās notikušas starptautiskā mākslas un mecenātisma projekta “Govju parāde” (“Cow Parade”) akcijas – tapa mākslinieka Paula Spridzāna vadībā, bet, ņemot vērā objekta vizuālo nolietojumu, pašvaldība pieņēma lēmumu piesaistīt mākslinieci Elitu Patmalnieci lielformāta govs skulptūras Ostas ielā vizuālā tēla pilnīgai pārveidei.
