Kicking off the new school year, the Ventspils Science Center VIZIUM invites all curious minds to embark on an educational adventure – a variety of activities will offer opportunities to experiment, experience fiery moments in science shows, and learn more about drone piloting. September will also feature Scientist’s Night 2025 and activities for young researchers.
In September VIZIUM workshops will take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 13.00. This month’s creative workshop theme is “Creative and Safe,” where visitors will learn about the safety rules to follow while conducting experiments and will get hands-on experience with simple chemistry experiments. Participants will observe various chemical reactions, experiencing science in a safe and engaging way.
Everyone is also invited to attend the science shows, which will take place from Thursday to Sunday:
- Thursday – Friday at 12:00 – “Before the Ashes”; 14:00 – “Journey Through Science”
- Saturday – Sunday at 12:00 “Before the Ashes”; 14:00 “Journey Through Science”; 16:00 “Before the Ashes.”
- On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the science show is available for groups of 10 or more, by prior reservation.
On September 4th at 16.00 On September 4th, the VIZIUM Science Center invites everyone interested to participate in a seminar on unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) organized by the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA). The seminar will take place in the VIZIUM conference hall on the 2nd floor, Rūpniecības Street 2. Participation in the seminar is free of charge and no prior registration is required.
Additionally, On September 26, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM Everyone is invited to participate in VIZIUM’s Scientists’ Night 2025 activities. During this free event, VIZIUM will host interactive stations featuring experiments, brain teasers, creative workshops, and hands-on technology experiences.
On weekends, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., VIZIUM hosts the “Little Researchers’ Workshops,” where preschool-aged children can spend time with science center instructors, engaging in creative and educational STEM activities, as well as playing in the Little Researchers’ Gallery. An integral part of the school year’s start is student field trips, and this year VIZIUM has prepared a particularly exciting addition – the “STEM and Civic Engagement” lessons.
