On May 11 at 5:00 PM, the National Bandura Capella of Ukraine – the oldest artistic ensemble in Ukraine with a 106-year history – will give a concert at the open-air stage in the “Fantāzija” Children’s Park in Ventspils.

The concert will take place as part of the charity tour “With Ukraine in Our Hearts”, aimed at raising funds for the preservation of Ukrainian culture.

The National Bandura Capella of Ukraine is a unique musical phenomenon—45 men who simultaneously sing and play the traditional bandura. These musicians embody the centuries-old spirit of the kobzars, an integral part of Ukrainian identity. Each year, the ensemble holds auditions to welcome the brightest talents into its ranks, ensuring the continuity of this cultural tradition. Currently, nine members of the Capella are actively defending Ukraine with arms in hand.

At the concert in Ventspils, audiences will enjoy beloved Ukrainian folk songs, authentic melodies from various regions of Ukraine, patriotic compositions, and popular Ukrainian pop hits.

The ensemble is complemented by an orchestral group that plays traditional instruments such as the sopilka, cimbalom, double bass, clarinet, bayan, and various percussion instruments.
