Place where the River Irbe flows into the sea
Joint stock company “Latvijas valsts meži” has made a beautiful and facilitated place of recreation where the River Irbe feeds into the sea.
The River Irbe has created a two kilometers long sand stripe. The place every year changes its location and looks. Between Jaunciems and the place where the River Irbe feeds into the sea, there is a 23.6m high dune “Baltais kalns”.
The River Irbe is the biggest river flowing through the Libyan land. The Libyan lifestyle has been linked with shipping and fishery. With the help of the River Irbe, the Libyans were able to develop relationship with the Latvians living inland; logs from the vast forests of Ance were rafted using the river to narrow gauge railway station in Lielirbe or ship in the sea.
Because of the River Irbe there is a Lielirbe village that has developed by the entry of the river. People love to take a boat ride on the river. Route from Rinda village to the sea is popular.
