Ventspils Tourism Information Center (TIC) has obtained the sign “Hiker Friendly”.

As part of the project's marketing activities, will be provided an opportunity for long-distance hikers to know that Ventspils TIC is a place where it will be possible to obtain a wide range of information on various types of hiking routes and receive binding services.

The sign “Hiker Friendly”  is granted to tourism service providers in the Baltic States.

It shows that the entrepreneur knows and respects the needs of hikers.

This means that the entrepreneur offers  important and necessary services especially for hikers. Ventspils Tourism Information Center (TIC) offers:

• Wi-fi internet available
• Drinking water available or the option to purchase or refill existing water bottles
• It is possible to charge electrical appliances
• Information on public transport options
• A first aid kit is available
• Information is available on where to go in case of various health problems (nearest medical institution, nearest pharmacy, etc.)
• Knowledgeable not only about routes in the area, but also about the local area, interesting sights, etc. tourism information
• Knows and has in-depth knowledge of all nature trails and walking routes in the territory of your county
• Can communicate in a foreign language - RU / ENG
• Route and service information is available in at least one international language
• Full information about the route is displayed in a visible place 

This sign can be awarded to any service provider in all three Baltic States that wants to offer the necessary services to hikers  - not only accommodation, but also, for example, cafes, pubs and restaurants, tourist information centers, gas stations, shops, etc.
