On September 20, an event will be held at the Ugāle Community Center “Gaisma” to honor the great Latvian poet Aspazija on her 160th birthday.
The evening program will open at 18.00:XNUMX PM with a conversation with writer Inga Ābeli, moderated by Inga Ieviņa. It will provide insight into the meaning of literature and the creative process, as well as focus on the relevance of Aspazija's work today.
At 19.00:XNUMX p.m., listeners will have the opportunity to experience a musical and literary event – a poetry concert “Sitting on the Threshold Fairy Tale…”, featuring guitarist Mārcis Auziņš and singer Beāte Zviedre. In the duet’s performance, Aspazija’s poetry will take on a new sound, intertwining with melodies by well-known composers Jānis Lūsēns, Raimonds Pauls and Zigmaris Liepiņš, specially arranged for this concert. The program also includes self-composed pieces, which alternate with poetry readings, creating an ethereal and artistically rich collage.
The event "Poetry Days. For Aspazija 160" invites you to a meeting where literature and music come together so that Aspazija's name and her works continue to inspire listeners of different generations.
