From March 27 to 29, the Latvian Concert Hall will host the most important awards for the animated film "The Stream" - the Academy Award or Oscar, the Golden Globe Award, and the European Film Academy Award.

On March 27 and 28, the awards will be available for viewing and taking photos with in the Great Hall of the “Latvija” concert hall from 11.00:19.00 a.m. to 29:11.00 p.m., and on Saturday, March 16.00 – from XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.

The prestigious awards' journey through regional concert halls and their arrival in Ventspils is possible thanks to the collaboration with the Latvian National Museum of Art and, of course, the creators of the animated film "Straume".

The animated film by director Gintis Zilbaložs received the European Film Academy Award in the category “Best European Animated Feature Film of the Year”, and was awarded the “Golden Globe” and “Oscar” for the best animated feature film. The Stream was also nominated for the Academy Award for “Best Foreign Language Film”, becoming the second film in the history of the award to earn two such nominations, and for the first time a film without dialogue was recognized as the best. To date, “The Stream” has won more than 70 awards in different countries and continents.

“The Stream” premiered on May 2024, 22, at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it became one of the festival’s favorites among both audiences and critics. The national premiere took place on August 2024, 28, but in January of this year, “The Stream” became the most-watched film of all time in Latvian cinemas.
