This fall, in celebration of the anniversary of Zigmaras Liepiņš, the premiere of Mirdza Zīvere and Zigmaras Liepiņš's new program "About What Matters" took place at the Daile Music House.
As the composer himself says: “What is important to Mirdza and me? They are, in fact, very simple things. Love for each other, for children, for parents and, of course, for Latvia. This program will include songs whose lyrics have a significant meaning, which I tried to highlight and complement with music as much as possible. Some of them are less well-known, some are new, but some are an integral part of Mirdza's repertoire. We want the 15 songs that will be played at the concert to be like a journey for the listeners into a very personal and emotional world, in which the main leitmotif is Love.
The band “Lupa” will also participate in the concert. Together with these professional musicians, we will play some of my instrumental compositions, which will transport the listeners from the personal dimension of the songs into a world filled with contrasting rhythm and tension.”
