The play “The Master and Margarita” is based on the novel of the same name by Mikhail Bulgakov. The plot lines of the novel are masterfully revealed in a modern interpretation of the literary work. In the play, the audience is drawn into a whirlwind of events and can experience a wide range of emotions.

The play takes place in two different eras – in Jerusalem during the time of Jesus Christ and in Moscow in the 20s. On the one hand, the author's interpretation of Christ's arrest, meeting with Pontius Pilate and the time until the Messiah's death on the cross, on the other – as part of his world tour, Satan and his entourage arrive in Moscow. All events are united and intertwined by the love story of the Master and Margarita.

The novel "The Master and Margarita" is the best-known work of Mikhail Bulgakov and is considered one of the greatest novels of the 20th century in the world.

The writer talks about love, philosophical and esoteric issues, higher powers, God and Satan, and allows you to experience love, friendship and betrayal, the search for happiness and truth.

Mikhail Bulgakov (1891-1940) wrote his most notable work, the novel “The Master and Margarita”, from 1929 until the end of his life. It was first published in the Soviet Union in an incomplete version only in 1967. The first complete version of the novel, without censorship, was published in 1973.
