On Sunday, April 6 at 4:00 PM, composer and guitarist Kaspars Zemītis will perform at the “Latvija” concert hall with his family – sons Kārlis, Mārtiņš, Jēkabs and wife Anda.
It has already become a tradition that in February, the month of love, Kaspars Zemītis meets with his listeners in a special way. This time, April has also become the “month of love”, when the third concert of the small tour will take place in the concert hall “Latvija”. Previous concerts took place in the music house “Daile” (Riga) and the Vidzeme concert hall (Cēsis). Now, the people of Courland will also be able to listen to this concert program.
In the concert program, the Zemīši family will perform original songs from the new album “Man ir tikai viena sirds”, as well as the best compositions that have already won the hearts of listeners – both in the solo sound of Kaspars’ guitar, in a duet with the wonderful soprano Andis Zemītes, and in collaboration with their energetic, talented sons – Mārtiņš, Kārlis and Jēkabs.
Describing the concert program, Zemītis says that it is the result of a great collaboration, starting with “Mēnessgaismas disco”, which was an idea “spurred on” by himself, the ballad “Man ir tikai viena sirds” related to the Jēkabs Dom choir school and jazz trends, continuing with Mārtiņš’s “Kā lode vientulība” and Kārlis’s “Tabletītēm”, as well as specially selected compositions to be performed together with his wife Anda.
He also adds that the lyrics for two songs on the new album – “I Have Only One Heart” and “I Give Myself to Summer” – were written by Andrejs Reinis Zitmanis, while the lyrics for the songs “Mēnessgaismas disco”, “Kā lode vientulība” and “Tabletītes” are by Mikus Frišvalds. “We are truly grateful to the men for this collaboration, because it has allowed both the music and the message to be very interesting, diverse, and yet – related to us. And we, the Zemītis family, are truly happy to give this music to the listeners, and we definitely invite you to meet us at concerts, because – there is strength in families and there is strength in Latvian singing, and we definitely want to use this strength and make it even greater and more beautiful. See you!” says Kaspars Zemītis.
