Latvian feature film. “My spirit is weak, but my will is strong,” the legendary Juris Kulakovs admitted to the director of the film “Art Works Are Born in Torment.” Following the times in Juris’s eccentric lair, which reflects his turbulent life and fascinating music, the viewer is at times drawn back into the reality of the absurd Soviet prohibitions and the splendor of regaining freedom, which despite everything tends to sound like a glorification of stupidity. In open conversations with Juris and his closest people, the film opens the viewer’s view of masks, art, and passion.
Entrance fee 3 euro.
