A popular place for walks and picnics in Ventspils is Jūrmala Park, where you can see the largest collection of anchors in the Baltics and test your strength on the children’s favorite “Jungle Trail”, where you can climb and crawl on wooden footbridges and other obstacles. Definitely worth a visit is the military heritage site – Ventspils 46th Coast Guard Battery Fire Correction Tower, where you can not only learn about its history, but also get to the viewing platform, which offers a wonderful view of the gray dune and the Baltic Sea. Lovers of romantic walks will especially love the promenade of the South Pier, which leads to the lighthouse, on the way to the four-meter-high sculpture “Cow – Sailor” and a giant chain chair. There is an opportunity to climb the observation tower or the decks of the fishing vessels “Azova” and “Grots” to feel like a fisherman.



One of the best ways to see Ventspils is to cycle – almost 70 km of cycle paths run through the city, making it especially convenient to see the most beautiful places in the city.
