Current Exhibitions in Ventspils

Before planning your vacation in Ventspils, we invite you to take a look at our splendid and exciting offer of exhibitions.


  • Ventspils Museum exhibition “Vasarnīcu Street”. It is a story of buildings, lifestyle, families, people and their destinies. The exhibition features mainly objects form the collection of the Ventspils Museum, clothes from the collection of I. Sarma, the photographic materials from the archives of M. Cara and the family Mikutovičs, as well as the bicycles from the collection of G. Brūns.
  • From 26 September to 24 October 2021: Plein-air painting exposition 2021 by the Ventspils Museum.
  • From 5 October to 30 November 2021: Sculpture exposition “It’s All About the Stone – Part II” by the sculptor Pauls Jaunzems.\
  • Until 30 November 2021: Sculpture exposition “It’s All About the Stone – Part I” by the sculptor Pauls Jaunzems in the garden and yard of the Castle of the Livonian Order.(From Tuesday till Sunday 10:00- 18:00)

HOUSE OF CRAFTS (Skolas iela 3) :

  • From 9 September 2021: “Every Day is a School Day” – photo exhibition by the photo club “Kursa”in celebration of the 170th anniversary of the Pope School. Entrance with museum tickets.
  • Exposition “Ferry. From Ventspils to Hamburg” dedicated to the world-renowned acrobat and circus artist Nikolajs Rutkovskis, born in Ventspils 115 years ago (1906). From 2 October, the House of Crafts will also commence the Small School of Comedians (for previous registration, call 29665848). (From Tuesday till Sunday 10:00- 18:00). 

MAIN LIBRARY (Akmeņu iela 2):

  • From 5 to 30 October 2021: Anniversary exhibition “Onyx Etudes” by the sculptor Pauls Jaunzems.
  • From 11 to 31 October 2021: Exhibition “Over the Baltic Sea” by the Swedish Embassy (Monday to Friday 11:00- 19:00, Saturday 09:00- 15:00). 

PĀRVENTA LIBRARY (Tārgales iela 4):

  • From 14 October to 12 November 2021: Exhibition “EEA AND NORWAY GRANTS IN LATVIA” by the Norwegian Embassy
  • From 15 to 31 October 2021: Exhibition of the Ventspils photography contest 2021 organized by the Tourism Information Centre.
  • From 13 October to 30 November 2021: Exposition “No Violence!” by the Swedish Embassy.(Monday to Friday 11:00- 19:00, Saturday 09:00- 15:00). 

THEATRE HOUSE "JŪRAS VĀRTI" (Karlīnes iela 40, Ventspils):

  • From 11 October to 7 November 2021: Solo exhibition by the graphic artist Ieva Nagliņa.
  • From 11 October to 7 November 2021: Solo exhibition by the painter Ella Mežule.(Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00).

MUSICAL LIBRARY (Lielā iela 1)

  • Thematic exhibition “The Sound Bed of the Wood Craftsman Guntis Niedoliņš for Relaxation and Positive Energy”.


  • From 22 September to 30 October 2021: “Each Picture has Its Own Story” – exhibition by Dagnija Trama.
