A new Ventspils anniversary photo album – “Ventspils 700+30” – is available for purchase
Wednesday, 12. May — Wednesday, 30. June. Ventspils

Ventspils City Council has issued the next photo album – “Ventspils 700+30” – in the series “Ventspils 700+…”.

In the book “Ventspils 700+30”, 400 colourful pictures on 336 pages in Latvian, English, Russian and Chinese (Mandarin) depict the city – the chronicle of its history, symbols, awards, future projects and today’s topicalities.

A similar photo album is created once every five years, and this is already the fifth photo album in the series “Ventspils 700+10”, “Ventspils 700+15”, “Ventspils 700+20” and “Ventspils 700+25”.

The information in the photo album is arranged in several thematic sections, the introduction of which is supplemented by narrations about Ventspils by well-known persons in Latvia and worldwide – Maestro Raimonds Pauls, writer Tatiana Bonch-Osmolovskaya, writer Vitaly Seroklinov, the Chairman of Shanghai Pudong New District CommitteeYan Xu, owner and the Chairman of the Board of “Malmar Sheet Metal” Dorsan De Buysscher, poet Heli Laaksonen, organist Wayne Marshall, coach Sandis Prūsis, writer Lev Naumov, architect David Cook and historian Ingrīda Štrumfa.

The Australian writer Tatiana Bonch-Osmolovskaya writes about Ventspils as follows: “I often went to the tempting sea and recorded a video of me reading poetry on the beach. Three years passed and I realised – it's time to return to the spruced up Ventspils, which reminds of a fairy tale city, where there is such a good atmosphere and the work runs very smoothly.”

The photo album not only acquaints with the city, but also tells about its history and displays, how the city has developed. Ventspils photo album as a lasting value will serve as a great gift for your relatives, friends, and also as a representation material for cooperation partners in Latvia and abroad.
