On the New Year’s Eve, December 31, Ventspils City invites everyone to gather in the Lielais Square to jointly say farewell to the old year and welcome the New Year 2020.

We will traditionally welcome the New Year in the Lielais Square which since its renovation and opening of the Concert Hall “Latvia” has become the most splendid venue for the events. Each resident of Ventspils and a guest of the city is invited to begin the 730th anniversary year of the city together by having fun, making new resolutions, setting strategic goals and wishing happiness to each other!

From 11.30 p.m., a performance by the famous and beloved musician Ivo Fomins with his accompanying group. At half past midnight, viewers will be greeted with a speech by the Chairman of the Ventspils City Council Aivars Lembergs. Finally, at 00:33:44, when the New Year comes based on the Ventspils time, we will watch magnificent festive fireworks in the night sky.

Organizers of the events ask to follow the current information on the planned additional public transportation runs and small traffic changes on the websites and in the social network accounts of the Ventspils City and the Ventspils Culture Centre.
