A library for children and adults with a diverse collection, cultural and lifelong learning events, free internet access and subscription-based full-text databases.
The library building also provides services to the Citizens Information Center and the Pārventa branch of the Digital Center.
The library was built in 2009. The building was recognized as the best new building of 2009 at the “Best Building of the Year in Latvia 2009” competition organized by the Latvian Builders Association, received the Latvian Designers Union award for “Best Public Interior 2009”, and was also awarded the Grand Prize in Architecture of the Year by the Latvian Architects Union.
In 2011, the library in Moscow won first place in the architectural competition “Best Office Awards 2011” in the nomination “Best Foreign Project”, as well as being included in the exhibition and catalogue of the international architectural competition “Dedalo Minosse”, which is a significant achievement on an international scale.
