From the highway, the sign to the trail can be found by following the sign to the Ulmale-Labraga Lutheran Church, the beginning of the trail is marked with a specially designed sign with the name of the trail. The trail is designed in a direction away from the sea, and winds up and down the picturesque ancient valley of the lower reaches of the Rīva River. The Rīva flows in a canyon-like ravine, the depth of which reaches 12 meters. Countless meanders of the river and steep shore outcrops open up to the view, it is possible to observe magnificent natural views and plant diversity. If you are lucky, you can also see a kingfisher or a black stork.
The river is more suitable for boating in spring and autumn.
The route is suitable for active walkers, the total distance is 8 km, on average you need to plan 2,5 hours. There are several rest areas with benches and campfire places along the route.
The route is linear, the return is possible by road (4 km to the beginning of the trail). However, it should be noted that there is no public transport here, so you will need to think about your return transport in advance or make the return journey on foot.
