In 2000, an ice rink was built in the city of Ventspils, where you can practice short track, figure skating, hockey, and curling on a daily basis, and there is also a public skating rink.
In 2013, reconstruction work was carried out at the Ice Hall - the ice rink was increased from 29m to 30m wide, and now it meets international requirements for organizing short track competitions.
The total area of the ice arena is 1970 m2 and has stands with 942 spectator seats, as well as changing rooms that can be used by 240 people at a time.
The ice rink is a popular sports and recreation venue among both city residents and young figure skaters and hockey players from not only other Latvian cities, but also from Russia, Belarus, Lithuania, Sweden and other countries regularly train here.
