The 4-meter-high and 7-meter-long sculpture "Waking Dreams" placed on the Ostas Street promenade embodies creative transformation with its bright and colorful design, depicts a modern interpretation of waking dreams, and enriches the Ventspils urban environment with the presence of contemporary art.
From 2005 to 2025, this sculpture was known as the Cow “Traveler”, and its original design – in the form of an old suitcase with stickers from various cities around the world where the international art and patronage project “Cow Parade” campaigns have taken place – was created under the guidance of artist Pauls Spridzāns, but, taking into account the visual deterioration of the object, the municipality decided to engage artist Elit Patmalniece to completely transform the visual image of the large-format cow sculpture on Ostas Street.
