Since 2000, the fountain has adorned the courtyard of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences, and it is designed as elegant giant drops through which water flows.
The fountain's large decorative drops have acquired the popular name "Student Tears" (sculptor Gļebs Panteļejevs and architect Andris Veidemanis).
