In Ventspils, near the sea, there is a spacious and well-maintained Jūrmala Park, which offers opportunities for recreation and walks in the fresh air for the whole family.
Many different paths wind through the park, as well as 2 special trails – the Anchor Trail and the Jungle Trail.
Anchor Trail is 730 m long and houses the largest collection of anchors in the Baltic States, where 152 anchors of different types are exhibited from the 35 anchors belonging to the Ventspils Seaside Open-Air Museum. The largest anchor weighs 23 tons and is 6 meters high.
Jungle trail is 380 m long and will especially appeal to children - you can climb and crawl on it like in a real jungle, there are several footbridges, hanging bridges, a tower and a track that reaches a height of 2 m at the highest point, and which leads from tree to tree. Going on the trail does not require physical fitness, it can be done by both big and small visitors.
The Mazbānītis of the Seaside Open-Air Museum runs through Jurmala Park.
