Jūrkalne is one of the most picturesque sea coasts in Latvia, boasting a beautiful sandy beach and the highest steep coast in Latvia.

To enjoy the beautiful view, a specially designed staircase leads from the 20-meter-high coastal cliff to the beach. It has been renovated several times, as the coast retreats significantly during strong storms - the greatest coastal erosion in Latvia can be observed right near Jūrkalne.

After World War II, Jurkalne beach and the great cliff that marked the western border of the Soviet Union were only accessible with special permits, but for a couple of decades now, Jurkalne has once again become a much-loved summer destination.

The sandy beach is an excellent place for sunbathing, but the sea attracts water sports enthusiasts like a magnet. Jūrkalni is loved by windsurfing, kiteboarding, and stand-up paddleboarding enthusiasts. This is a great place for paragliding.

Here is a memorial to World War II refugees to Sweden, the "Sail of Hope" and the ancient wooden bridge over the Rīva River, Ugunspļava with a nature trail, Aldar's stone, and a memorial ensemble for the Fēliksberg Maritime School created by sculptor Ģirtis Burvys.

There is an access road with benches, a picnic table and a WC in the summer season.
