The nature recreation park in Jūrkalne includes the Wind Farm, the Fire Pond, and two nature trails leading to the central beach. A viewing platform, benches, and stairs have been built on the steep shore.
In the wind farm Sculptures for all winds – north, south, west and east – have been installed. The names are engraved in several languages. In the summer, the sculptures are illuminated for night events.
In the Fire Meadow There is an open-air stage, a dance floor, a gazebo and five campfire sites covered with boulders. In 2020, a natural concert hall, or Vējturi nams, was created in Ugunspļava. Concerts, festivals, green balls, fairs and celebrations are held here. The summer solstice on June 21, celebrated in the Suiti tradition, is especially magnificent. In the spring, apple trees planted by 50 volunteers bloom magnificently in the meadow, but during the harvest, the Tourism season ends here with the Apple Ball.
Small nature trail winds through the seaside forest. Here you can take photos at the dwarf giant's wigwam, the witch's house or sit down in the forest fish alley. Walking along The Great Nature Trail We reach the sea to enjoy the most beautiful and romantic sunsets.
The idea for the park was created in collaboration with the well-known musician Igo Fomin in Latvia, who was inspired by the legend of the Latvian people and their spirit, which was born long ago at a fire lit by sailors after a miraculous escape from a storm. Tempered by all the winds of the sea, the Latvian spirit is strong and unwavering. It is renewed every time Latvians realize their desire to come together.
