From July 31, Ventspils residents and city guests will have the opportunity to purchase the new photo album "Ventspils 700+35" - a special and tasteful edition that reveals the story of Ventspils over the last five years in 316 photographs.

This is not just a collection of photographs – it is a story of the city’s era, capturing the most significant events, people, achievements and changes. The album allows us to see Ventspils as a city that respectfully preserves its historical heritage, while looking to the future with new energy and confidence.

When creating the photo album, the working group wanted to convey to the viewer the special identity of Ventspils – not only the beauty of the urban environment, but also its people, traditions and cultural values. The album reflects the uniqueness of our city – the Ventspils dialect, the colors, patterns and textures of the national costume, which create a unique sense of belonging and tell the story of Ventspils' roots.

The photo album features the most significant changes and new objects of the last five years that have become part of the city's everyday life and identity – the science center "VIZIUM", the Gāliņciems Library, the Kurzeme Rehabilitation Center, the new Seaside Open-Air Museum building, the Ventspils toboggan run and other significant projects.

A special place in the album is dedicated to the people – the people of Ventspils, whose work, ideas, achievements and life stories create the true value of the city. The photographs capture both significant city events and everyday moments, which together create the unique character of Ventspils.

Each image in this publication is a testament to time for future generations – of a city where the past is respected, the present is appreciated and the future is built with confidence. Nature, urban environment, culture, sports and people's life stories in four seasons reveal Ventspils in all its diversity.

The photo album is created on the theme of Ventspils culture and local identity – this is reflected both in the national costume motif of the brunči used in the cover design and in the chapter titles, which are written in the local dialect. This solution makes the publication particularly connected to the cultural heritage of Ventspils and its inhabitants.

The album has 240 pages, 316 photos created by 67 authors. The publication is prepared in Latvian and English, so it will be a valuable souvenir not only for Ventspils residents and guests of the city, but also a representative gift for Ventspils' cooperation partners and friends abroad.
