The culmination of the Ventspils City Festival is expected on the evening of August 2nd on the Ostas Street promenade, where the grand closing concert “735 White Thoughts” will take place – a program full of bright and dynamic music that will lead to a shared festive adventure before the fireworks.
From 20:00 onwards, the band “Carnival Youth” will take the stage, performing their most famous songs. At approximately 21:20, the concert program “735 white thoughts” specially created for the Ventspils festival will begin, in which prominent Latvian music personalities and groups will take the stage: Antra Stafecka, Normunds Pauniņš, Atis Ieviņš, Horens Stalbe, DJ Monsta, as well as the groups “JŪT” and “Musiqq”. The special guest is JD Davis from Belgium, whose voice is familiar to fans of DJ David Guetta’s work.
The concert will feature a dynamic musical program, the basis of which is the golden fund of Latvian pop, rock and pop music of the early 1990s. Just as the city of Ventspils has grown and evolved since that time, these legendary songs will also be reborn in a new sound – experiencing a genre and stylistic transformation. They will naturally merge with international musical influences and melodies created today, creating a unified concert story. The witty acting tandem “GRABULIS” or Gints Grāvelis and Andris Bulis will help to tell it in a relaxed atmosphere.
JD Davis is a versatile artist – singer, DJ, songwriter and producer, whose voice can be heard on such world-famous hits as “The World Is Mine”, “Closer to Me” and “In My Eyes”, collaborating with and DJ David Guetta, Deep Dish, Junior Jack and other big names in electronic dance music. His recent collaboration with Olivier Heldens and DJ from Mars on a new version of New Order’s song “Blue Monday” has gained international recognition, playing at various dance music festivals – this song will also be heard in Ventspils.
